Tourism Ambassador

This learning programme has been developed for the function of tour guide assistant, tourist assistant, or concierge within the hospitality, travel and tourism industries. The programme takes a very practical approach, and additional time allocated for workplace learning to ensure that learners gain sufficient experience, thereby improving their future employment prospects. During the programme, the learner must be employed within the hospitality or tourism field, or must have access to a hospitality or tourism environment for practical work exposure and assessment purposes.

Event Support

This learning programme has been developed for the function of events, or function assistant within the hospitality, travel and tourism industries. The learners involved in this programme were previously unemployed. Additional time has been allocated for workplace learning to ensure that these learners gain sufficient experience thereby improving their future employment prospects. During the programme the learner must be employed within the hospitality or tourism field, or must have access to an event planning, management, or coordination environment for practical work exposure, and assessment purposes.

Mentorship

This course has been developed to address skills levels of mentors in the workplace by increasing their knowledge of mentoring and their practical ability to mentor learners in the workplace. The target population for this learning programme is learners who are wish to become mentors or improve their mentoring skills in the workplace.

Grade an Establishment

On completion of this learning programme, the learner will be able to determine whether or not tourism establishments meet the criteria laid down in one of the national grading systems and recommend a grading award or level for establishments based on those criteria.
