Skills Programmes are one of the most dynamic features of the emerging education and training system of South Africa. This kind of provisioning is particularly associated with ‘just in time’, and ‘just enough’ learning to meet a specific need in workplace environments. It is a viable and common method for optimal workplace functioning in all contexts, and greatly facilitates access to learning in a manageable manner in terms of cost, time, energy, and resources, for both the employer and employee.
Skills Programmes are occupationally-based, practical learning programmes, addressing the identified needs of a specific industry. Learners may obtain a number of credits towards a registered qualification when successfully completing a skills programme.
ProServ South Africa’s Skills Programmes are accredited with various SETA’s (Skills Education & Training Authorities) governing specific industry sectors and fields of study and all qualifications are aligned to the National Qualifications Framework as outlined by SAQA (South African Qualifications Authority).
