The duration of Skills Programmes differ and but usually rolls out within a 3-month period. This includes Facilitation and Assessment with practical application during training and assessment in occupationally directed required environments. Project roll-out is customisable for the work environment in which you operate.

The purpose of this programme is to develop learners in a variety of personal, organizational and vocational skills in order to assist customers in choosing specific items from the menu. Each person that will successfully achieve this programme will be enabled to effectively perform the duties of a food service assistant within a restaurant (food and beverage) environment. The knowledge on how to serve food either for table or room service in a hygienic, competent and organised manner.

Each person that will successfully achieve this programme will be enabled to prepare beds and handle linen and bed coverings in accordance, service toilet- and washroom areas, clean floors and floor coverings while understanding the importance of hygiene, cleanliness and customer satisfaction, basing performance on this knowledge.

Each person who will successfully achieve this programme will be able to effectively perform the duties of a bar attendant within a restaurant (food and beverage) environment. The knowledge on how to prepare and serve different drinks, wines and cocktails will specifically be focused on.

Skills developed include assisting in a carvery and buffet service, 0perating a PC and handle and maintain knifes. Basic food preparation skills such as cooking pasta, fish, meat and eggs are also covered. Safety and security in the working environment is developed, as well as telephone skills, maintaining personal and kitchen hygiene and internal relationships within the organization, and developing one to view this programme as an entry point to a further career in hospitality.

At the end of this programme the learners will be able to identify all the required knowledge, skills and understanding for application of the Culture Site Guide Skills programme. The qualifying learner achieving these unit standards (in combination with context expertise standard(s) will be able to create and conduct a local guided tourist experience, based on local natural and cultural resources, that entertains and informs visitors. The learner will be able to create and conduct short local tours with an emphasis on heritage or cultural resources that will inform and entertain visitors.

At the end of this programme the learners will be able to identify all the required knowledge, skills and understanding for application of the Nature Site Guide Skills programme, registration TGD/NatSGd/2/0029. The qualifying learner achieving these unit standards (in combination with context expertise standard(s)) will be able to create and conduct a local guided tourist experience, based on predominantly natural resources, that entertains and informs visitors. The learner will be able to create and conduct short local tours with an emphasis on the natural environment resources.

This generic assessor unit standard is for those who assess people for their achievement of learning outcomes in terms of specified criteria using pre-designed assessment instruments. The outcomes and criteria may be defined in a range of documents including but not limited to unit standards, exit level outcomes, assessment standards, curriculum statements and qualifications. Those who achieve this unit standard will be able to conduct assessments within their fields of expertise. This unit standard will contribute towards the achievement of a variety of qualifications, particularly within the fields of Education Training and Development Practices and Human Resource Development.

It is preferable for people who intend attending this course to have achieved the generic assessor unit standard.
